What is this network?

This site is part of a self-help network of church musicians based in the Yorkshire region.

The emphasis is on more contemporary repertoire and providing opportunities for people to share or ask for help with their church music activities.

There's no 'membership', fees, or obligations. It is whatever people make it.

The Network was formed after a 'Live Simply' Music Day (February 2007) and has since held events three or four times a year.

The general format is to run through a number of hymns appropriate to the coming liturgical season. There are often refreshments before or after the music, and events are hosted in a number of different parishes.

New Mass Settings

On 25/09/11 there was a 'Workshop for Parish Musicians' put on by Leeds Diocese in Wheeler Hall. In the varied programme, the 'Singing new musical settings of the new Missal texts' was especially useful, with samples of the sheet music for five Masses in a variety of styles. The list of Mass settings is here, with links to samples of the sheet music, audio files, and where it can be ordered.

Here is a link to feedback from our March 19th Iona event. You can also help with suggestions for what next!
